Poll question: Which city do you like best?
So I'm just thinking about my grad school options. I wanted to get some outside opinion...

Regardless of academic factors (which will obviously play a large part in my decision), what city would you move to and why?

Thanks! :toast:

9. That's one thing I do not like...
but if I had a good offer from UC I would have to suck it up.

I'm more of a warm weather type -- hence the Tucson, Austin, SD choices. :)

10. Chicago winters separate the stout-hearted from the weak.
Actually the best thing about Chicago is, it's so great here, the weather doesn't get a say in the matter.

7. I Love Seattle!
It's one of my favorite cities. The people are nice, there's great food, wonderful scenery and a mild climate. It does rain a lot, but I love rain, too!

You didn't include Knoxville, TN, which is a university town. The cost of living in Knoxville is fairly low, there's a good university there, and there are some fellow DUers in the area. It's also near my beloved Smoky Mountains, the most beautiful place on earth.

11. Nashville is a nice place to live actually.
There are some good grad programs there and in nearby Murfreesboro and Clarksville. Nashville, despite being a very church filled town in the Bible Belt is actually quite blue, politically. Al and Tipper live there you know.

You might think about Bloomington IN (Indiana University)..the quintessenial college town.

I'd love to live in Austin but I couldn't breathe there. Allergies are a major consideration for anyone considering that city.

You left out Boston.
