Why is my cat so dumb and annoying?
She's managed to get herself "trapped" in the upper reaches of our garage, otherwise known as our attic, and is now up there, wandering about, meowing pathetically, acting as if she can't figure out how to get down.

Puh-leeze! This is the same cat who climbs all over EVERYthing outside, runs up trees, gets up onto the roof of the house regularly....hell, I've even seen her on the roof of my neighbor's house across the street.

My attitude is: If she get get her ass up there by herself, she can get her ass back down by herself, too.

She's probably doing this on purpose...just to bug me. I'll give it some more time, but I do NOT wanna have to go up there and get her.

She's driving me nuts! :eyes:

Sorry...venting,venting..... Not sounding or feeling very compassionate right now....

Shine

1. Stupid cat update, for all those who were on the edge of their seats
She's down from the attic now... Oh joy.

I guess she got tired of pretending she was "trapped". :eyes:

2. Does she run across your head every morning at 4am?
Or, if she's locked out of the bedroom for that behavior, does she noisily throw herself against the door for hours on end?

No?

Well a "trapped" cat isn't interfering with your sleep and sanity, so NO COMPLAINTS FROM YOU!!!!

/yes, I am sleep-deprived

5. It's being bumb and annoying because it's a cat.

9. My cat got himself trapped in the window blinds today
They were closed and he wanted to sit on the sill so he climbed through them. On the way out, he got stuck. I rescued him when I heard the commotion.

10. mine tried to break into my closet this morning....woke me up
and I thought one of the others was inside the closet and they were playing toes under the door. Last thing I want is a cat trapped in the closet, so I decided to get up and see what was happening

So I was half asleep and not coherent at all, rolled over the side of my (tall) waterbed and somehow lost my grip or balance or something on the padded rail and fell out of bed.

Now I have a very nasty bruise on my thigh and a couple of other sore spots as well.

Damn cat.

12. Bummer on the bruise!
Yes, I would definitely say it was your cat's fault.

Oh well, at least they're cute. :)

15. Fer crissakes, build her an elevator out of a milk case and broom
like I did for my Finnigan every single night when he got stuck up a tree and embarrassed the shit out of us by wailing like a banshee.

16. Why not keep her in the house for her own protection
as well as protecting her from dogs, cat killers, diseases, etc.? You are basically her parent. She sounds confused and scared from her behavior.
Do you yell at her? Do neighbors yell at her? Does she know when her next meal will be? Is she forced to spend the night outside when she wants to come in?

I'm not trying to be judgemental. This behavior can be corrected but you do have to have compassion and love for your cat. JMO

17. Next time, noisily opening a can of anything should get her down
I had a moran kitty that suddenly remmebered how to get back to earth once she'd heard that magical noise. Mercifully for me, she died young. Poor thing.
