Why do most chain sandwich shops SUCK? (A rant.)

At ToGo's, they're so stupid it's a miracle if you get your sandwich even halfway of what you wanted. (You say "I'd like a turkey sandwich, no mayo, on wheat, to go," and as they automatically reach for the mayo they drone "What kind of bread?...For here or to go?"

Quizno's gave me a "frequent buyer" sandwich card, then told me that the stamps from other locations "didn't count," since they all had to be from the same shop (?!?!!?!). No discount.

Tonight, I wind up at Subway, expecting to use my full frequent buyer card for a chicken parmesan sandwich, and my last $2 to buy a drink. I am then informed by the idiot girls that 1) the toaster is broken, so it'll have to be microwaved, and then 2) when the sandwich is done, they tell me they "no longer honor those sandwich cards" because of customer fraud. "But you can still buy the sandwich!" WITH TWO DOLLARS, YOU FREAKING IDIOTS?

I work as a substitute teacher, so I shouldn't be surprised by the morons out there. But honestly!

(I wound up at KFC, where when my order came out to be more money than I had, the clerk CHIPPED IN HIS OWN CHANGE to cover it. That's service!)
