some of the hub's co-workers were told that their buffet was comped this time if they would just please leave & never come back because they ate too much

this was a small family buffet restaurant tho

never heard of a casino buffet caring if you ate yrself to the point of vomiting as long as you made it to the toilet

And it is not very much so I tend not to go to them.
When I ran in high school, I was a bit underfed on a regular basis because I burned a lot of calories and my parents were poor at the time. As a result, I ate an enormous amount anytime I was at an all you could eat restaurant or event like a potluck. There was still a limit though.
As far as limiting customers who eat too much, I had a few male friends in high school who were once asked to leave after they went to such a restaurant and had eaten continuously for three hours and were going up for more.
