Serenity is the shiniest movie of the year
You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll go through the whole range of emotions.

Now I'm not one for a lot of fancy words, but after watchin' the way things come about in this movie, I'm sure you'll all be of the same mind I am.

The goram Alliance is about as bad as Bush. Now that's sayin' somethin'. I ain't sure, but I could see the Bushies doin' some of the smae stuff the goram Alliance does in this film.

And by the way, if you run into any Reavers, you're humped.

13. If you get ahold of the DVD's and watch the series from the beginning
I think you'd love them.

5. No lesser luminary than Orson Scott Card called Serenity...
...the best science fiction movie EVER!

If that's not a sterling recommendation, I don't know what is!

6. Wow, I'ma huge Orson Scott Card fan and his recommendation
says a lot, in my book. I'll definitely have to check this movie out.

Strangely, I know absolutely NOTHING about it and have never even heard of "Firefly"...so I guess I'm just completely out of the loop. Duh.

Oh well.

9. I wish they'd bring the show back.
I'm only now seeing it for the first time on the SciFi channel; I never caught it on Fox. I can't wait to see the movie. I'm hoping I can line up a babysiter while it's running.

11. Hey, why exactly did you refer to this movie as "shiny"?
Just curious...Your original post caught my eye, both because of my username and also because I'm a huge movie fan.

I will, btw, check that movie out. And if I like it, I'll spread the word b/c that's what I do anyway when I like a movie.

It's my nature, dude.

12. It's a Firefly/Serenity euphemism for "Excellent" or "Outstanding"
If you really like something in the 26th century, it's shiny.

15. Ooooh....got it. Thanks, Walt.
I never saw Firefly...is it still on TV? SciFi channel? If so, what nights? I'm not a big TV watcher, hence my lamenitude....
However, I do love the movies, so I'll check out Serenity.

7. IMO, Star Wars has nothing on Serenity
Seriously, it's that good.

It's gritty and the way you'd expect Space as a frontier to be.

10. Despite Card's opinion...
...I loved it. I saw it just this afternoon, and was very happy with it. It's very Whedonish--sharply etched characters and crisp dialogue that avoids cliches, and a convincing centuries-hence feel to the language.

14. That movie is **%*&(*$ great!!!...and I'm not a big SciFi fan
My mom, who is a big sci-fi fan, has the Firefly series on DVD. I watched it and it's very good.

The movie is even better. There's not enough superlatives to go around for the great acting, the great directing, great script, ect. Go see it.
