Why are car commercials so incredibly badly done?

Some of VW's aren't too bad, but all these flying cars, and folding buildings, and people carrying car parts through streets, and flames shooting truck frames... Do the car companies think anyone likes that crap?

I can't remember the brand of the majority of these pretentious things, so I know they aren't working. It's a good thing I can't, because I would refuse to buy them if I could remember them.

Just ranting. Watching the Cowboys act like they are playing football is bad enough, but every drive I have to watch these stupid car commercials... Arghhhhh!!!!

1. The one I hate is the guy who leaves the house, jumps off a cliff

And parachutes to the bottom of the grand fucking canyon to his overpriced SUV. I keep wishing his chute would fail.

2. That's a car commercial? Figures!

I tune that one out as soon as the he jumps off the cliff. I've never watched it long enough to realize it was a car commercial. It certainly wouldn't have improved my mood if I had!

3. The Hummer commercials piss me off

The ones that show people driving out into the unknown and then they pan out to show the planet from space making it look like the Hummer is some sort of ecologically friendly vehicle. :wtf: Irritates me every time.
