Too bad baseball isn't playing under the old system without playoffs
The White Sox and the Cardinals could go straight to the World Series with the best records in their respective leagues. *puts on helmet and waits for flames from fans of the other playoff teams.*

1. Sometimes I feel like that would be good too.
Although, for the business of baseball, playoffs are the best idea. Alternatively, you could get rid of divisions, and let the top 4 teams in each league all into the playoffs. I think that would be more fair. There's no way the Padres deserve to play in October but not the Phillies.
