Late night music thread: What are your recent music purchases?
Today I bought:
Sonic Youth: Goo, re released, remastered and with some rare stuff on it as well.
Neil Young: Prairie Wind, the new cd, I like it, typical Neil.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse: Zuma, of course it is good.
My Morning Jacket: To Sandworm Cometh, early stuff by this band, recording quality sucks at times but the music is great.
Calla: Collisions, new release by this band, one of the best cds that I have heard this year. Going to see them live on friday.

2. I bought The Killers' "Hot Fuss" limited edition a few weeks ago...
Can't afford to buy music as much as I used to.

I downloaded the new Thrice album "Vheissu" recently and have fallen in love with that. A must-buy once I have money to spare.

3. How are the extra three Killers' tracks?
Is it worth blowing another 14 bucks?

6. "Glamourous Indie Rock and Roll" is probably my favourite song by them
The other two are good as well. I hadn't bought the original album, so I'm not sure if it'd be worth dropping another $14 on.

7. If they want consumers to quit with the illegal downloading...
...this is a stupid way to go about it as far as those who bought the original album are concerned.

Glad you're liking the extras, though. It's a really good album even without them.

8. Yeah, for sure, great album
But like you said, definitely not a way to curb illegal downloads.

17. I'm a big music fan, and don't mind buying
Part of the thrill is in the purchase IMO.

5. My most recent half-dozen...
Feist: Let it Die--Highly Recommended
Rihanna: Music of the Sun--Don't believe the hype
Shakira: Fijacion Oral, Volumen 1--Highly recommended
M.I.A.: Arular--Highly Recommended
The Bravery: Self-titled--Good neo-new wave fluff
Black Eyed Peas: Monkey Business--Not as good as Elephunk, but all right.

Overall, it's been a good year for the ladies.

11. I'll have to check out the Shakira and Feist
I also like M.I.A., even though she's not what's typically my favorite music.

Also, I'll give the Neil Young a listen, as he's still very good.

Right now, I'm pretty broke in terms of CD money. I'm saving some of my fall favorites like Liz Phair for Christmas gifts. I'm a proud Christmas fan. :-)

10. My last 4
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 08:37 PM by mvd
Sheryl Crow - Wildflower: Love it - beautiful CD that's not without edge

Emma Roberts - Unfabulous And More: this was a mistake. What was I thinking? I know I like pop, even from some youngsters (Aly & AJ and Brie Larson for example) - but I have to be more careful.

Megan McCauley - Baa Baa Black Sheep: Haven't gotten it yet - amazon.com is having trouble with the demand for this CD.

Trisha Yearwood - Jasper County: ranks among her best!

15. Bought Franz Ferdinand for daughter's B-day; bought Sting's latest for
$2 at a garage sale!
Want to buy: Audioslave, and Incubus. Love the voices of both those guys. And Neil is the best. Neil and Crazy Horse Rust Never Sleeps was one of the best tours EVER.

Mariza's Fado Em Mim

My music collection grows very slowly. I can go a couple years without buying a CD.
