Three things to do, before you die. Tell us.
I'm an aspiring author, so I'm just curious. Looking for material, or at least - some filling.

So, you have three things left to do on earth before you die.

What are they?

What would they be?

6. Im going to assume you ment England.

Ok, before you get anything published, you gotta start small.

Write short-stories.

Got any stories? Write them down.

Anything odd happen to you today? Write it on a note and save it.

Other than that, you're on your own ... i hate heights and I've already been to the UK.

22. Well not the whole engine per se
but I've spent time working with DirectX. I have this sprite engine I'm really proud of. Time based animation, proper control of volume, and one very slick core joining the whole together.

If you want to write games you have many methods:

1 - Build your own engine around some graphics engine such as OpenGL or Direct X (direct X is good because is has a very slick built in input and sound interface). You'll need to spend a lot of time with the SDK for whatever method you choose, but its very rewarding.

2 - Buy a built in engine and focus solely on game programming (much easier). For this you might try something like DarkBasic.

I keep getting stuck on graphics. Me and photoshop are only on so-so terms.

Mr. Skygazer, travel these days is only an expensive way to visit airports.

And your dog... well .. I've lost a lot of cats in my life ... and .. I'm guessing they don't want to be where you and your dogs end up .. so... I guess .. GOODBYE's are in order.

That's an interesting view of travel you have there - I tend to travel in pretty unorthodox ways. I've travelled the U.S. by way of my thumb, for the most part and seen a lot of out of the way places in the process.

As for the dog, she absolutely loved cats. She loved anything that was small and furry, treating one and all as if they were a beloved puppy (everything from an actual puppy to my son's guinea pig which she essentially adopted). So who knows? We may run into each other. ;)

(3)

A drunk Norwegian guy comes up to a priest, and he says (sort of):

"EYH! PRIEST I wanna know.. do they have soccer in heaven?"

The priests says: "Ehm, actually I dont know. But I'm praying this evening and I'll ask Him, ok?"

Next day, the Norwegian meets the priest again:

"So, did you get an answer to the soccer-in-heaven-question?"

Priest says: "Yeah, I got good news and bad news. Good news is, there IS soccer in heaven.

Bad news is, you're playing short-stopper upcoming saturday."

I LOVE". I've had a successful business, but it sure wasn't my dream job. I want to write and illustrate a bestselling children's book. Got the illustration part down, got a publishers-just have to find the time to do a job that pays crap instead of the decent wages that I earn as a commercial illustrator. With the * economy, that's tough.

69. Attend one of Barbara Sher's idea parties
(try Google). I went to a taping on one at a PBS station when I had come to a dead end in my search for a publisher. I had a publisher within one week of the taping. Many people in attendance were exactly where you are now, and the majority of them went away having a better idea of what their dream job might be, and how they could attain it.

65. When I was a kid, I promised myself three things....
That I would make money doing the three things I love...

Music, Writing and Politics....

Now by no stretch of the imagination am I a wealthy man other than in spirit and good thoughts...

But I made enough money in Music to pay for every instrument I ever bought... Enough to have to actually declare on my income tax a positive income for two years....

In Writing, I have made, over the years, two full years of good, middle Income salary.....

And in politics, I made my primary living for almost three years and still do free lance work to this day....

So I attained my goals....

Of course I believed I would get rich when I was young, but that is really not important....

I am just Glad that I was able to stick with what I wanted to do with my life and actually get paid for following my dreams....
