4. No joke
I am a recruiter for a government contractor. I can assure you these job announcements are no joke. I put a good number of job announcements on Monster, as well as many of other sites, and 99% of my open positions require clearances at all levels. However, we are small contractor specializing only in Information Technology and Training.

Speaking strictly on the professional level, I can tell you that finding candidates with these types of skills and/or with the clearances is a full time hunt. Everyone within government contracting (no matter what sorts of contracts they support) is looking for "cleared candidates" and there simply are not enough to go around. Even in my candidate searches to find System Engineers, Analysts, Programmers, etc. just the need for the clearance alone is mind-boggling. I've had positions open for months that I can't fill. Contractors like Northrop and Lockheed will hire anyone with a TS and literally find something for them to do, the clearances are that much in demand!

6. I've noticed that myself.
I've been job hunting on a semi-serious basis for a while now, and I keep seeing TS clearance needed.

I applied for the CIA a long time ago - I got to one interview! LOL!! That's as close to a clearance as I've ever gotten.

5. LOL!!!
It's not my thing at all, but I was looking for jobs in the DC area and this one popped up.

Alas, I am extremely unqualified for that job, and I suspect I am of the wrong political pursuasion as well. ;-)

7. "...and we employ random buzz-word generators..."
From the company description:

"MSX International combines innovative people, standardized processes
and today's technologies to deliver a collaborative, competitive
advantage on a global basis."

Good thing I work for a company that has uncreative people using
yesterday's technologies in non-standard ways --- that makes us a
reticent failure but only on a local level. :)
