Mary Mahoney's restaurant in Biloxi survived.

Hurricane Camille put 2 feet of water in the restaurant, but Katrina put an additional 7 or 8 feet of water through the bar and the cafe as well as the main restaurant.

Down in the lounge area - the lowest part of the property - Katrina left three bar stools hanging in the support beams of the ceiling.

Mary Mahoney's opened in 1964, five years before Camille.

"The main restaurant is the oldest documented place in Biloxi and it came through fine," Mahoney said. "The structure is fine and we're looking to reopen in two months or so. We're not sure just how long it will take because we don't know how long it's going to take for the windows and ovens to come in."
