1. Mine plays with them
and sometimes manages to kill them in the process. In other words, he's not horribly effective.

3. If the spider in question is small, they kill it and eat it, but

the spiders that we have found since moving to this neighborhood could star in 1950s sci fi movies. When they encounter one of those, they come get me and we all stand around trying to figure out what to do. The funniest things have happened while we were doing that. My aunt can't walk so she pulls up behind us in her scooter. She says we all look alike (she is only getting a rear end view of all our butts) and when the spider moves in any way, we all jump in tandem. She laughs at us. So I'm on my own with the monster spiders here.

4. My four present cats have no interest in anything which doesn't come from
a can. But I used to have one who would eat any bug he saw. Not play with it, just suck it in like a vacuum cleaner. He was a strange little boy and I miss him.
