Sometimes cool stuff really DOES happen....
I'm attempting to start a one-man on-site computer repair business on a wish and a shoestring budget (completely out of pocket, which means a budget of zero). But sometimes thing go the right way.

I went in to a local sign shop today to price some magnetic signs for my vehicle, and it turned out the sign shop was having some minor computer problems. So once I gave them my card and they realized what my business was, they offered to trade me a wish list of signs for computer repair work! Way cool, sez I, let's do it!

I'm a great believer in accepting a positive sign for what it is, so this made me feel pretty good about what I'm trying to do. Here's hoping it continues this way!

4. Just trying to find a paycheck in a nasty world.
It's the future of computer tech-- farmouts and piecework. I don't see steady tech jobs for many of us in the future, except perhaps for server-side jobs and large networks. Of course, I could be wrong...

6. That's excellent...
I recently heard a piece on NPR where they were talking about massage therapists in San Francisco bartering massage for just about all their needs--one masseuse almost didn't have to use money anymore. And the more we do that, the less tax/bomb money they have!!

8. Wow!!!!!!!!! I am impressed!
And yes......take the positive signs as affirmation that you are on the right track!

Gosh, I was just thinking about you about 1/2 hour ago......thinking I had not seen you around for a while, and wondering if your physical ailments were bothering you......

But it sounds like you are doing just peachy! Yay for you!

:-)

10. Wow-- someone out in the world thinking of ME??
Actually, yes, I have been going through a bad arthritic flare-- the bottom half of my body felt like it was four times as old as the top half. But I've been properly medicated, and the pain is now gone. Besides, I just helped my sister install a cheap 18' wide above-ground swimming pool in her back yard, and I've been spending considerable time in it, as floating in water beneath the hot Texas sun made the ache go away for an hour or two...
