The new owners of my building are making me nervous....
They were talking about eviction notices the other night, what eviction notices? I didn't get one. I just signed a yearly lease and it's not up until August 2006.

Guess most people got them (I'm guessing because their leases were coming up?)

I don't know, can people be given eviction notices just because they are renovating the building?

My appointment to see them is tomorrow, they were so vague at the tenant's meeting a few days ago. :(

I don't know.... :(

1. Call a real estate
office and see if they can give you a number to call to find out what your rights are with the new owners. If they can't give you a number, they will probably know who to call to get one.

2. I'm waiting for the meeting tomorrow
every tenant gets one on one meetings with them.

See, they plan a total renovation of the building, and then subsequent major increases in rent.

They are talking about doing certain suites, and then people can move into renovated suites while theirs is being done. A few people at the meeting I went through have their leases up in November and December, so they got eviction notices. Another gal I spoke to didn't, but then that was because she had a yearly lease? I didn't get one as well, and I have a yearly lease.

 Vague property manager said just make an appointment to come and things will be discussed. :silly:
