11. My folks loved them so much they planted...
a Rio Grande Dewberry hybrid in their yard. The berries were big as a man's thumb. My Brother got a start of them and they spread all over his back yard in Texas City. He'd put his wife in his waders, pick her up and set her down in the midst of them.
When she'd picked what she could reach she'd give him a shout. They had a bumper crop that year, and when she had all she wanted I brought my tractor over and mowed.

13. My vines are hard to pick, have to wear thick blue jeans. My hands catch
hell but it is worth it. This year I had to pick with a broken foot, I am a serious picker. No one around here is interested in picking so the berries are all mine, I do give some juice away to my neighbors.

Have you ever made wine from the dewberries?

17. I used to make all sorts of wine, including muscadine.
I had one grape vine on my place with a trunk on it as big as a tree.
