Hey lounge. If y'all don't mind, I think I could use a hug...
I'm having a down day. The last two nights I went out with my friends, and I really had some good times. I'd go to sleep okay. But then when I wake up and my ex fiancee is there... it just stops all my momentum dead in its tracks. I also feel pretty bad because I'd made a few pithy comments to her this morning. Yeah, she probably deserves them for what she did, and I'm sure no one would blame me for making a few minor sarcastic remarks (hell, she doesn't blame me either), but I feel like I was being childish, so I apologized. I don't want to take out my anger on her. That's not particularly useful.

My head's still sort of spinning, spending equal time being angry and sad. It's going to be a loooooong 114 days of living with her...

Thanks lounge. I promise not to do this very often. I feel bad doing it at all. Just ain't got much else during the work hours...

edit: Is it in any way possible to arrange for a couple of overnight trips away just so you don't have to stay there the whole time?

15. Yeah, I plan on doing that.
I'm going home for Columbus weekend, might visit some friends in Philly for Veteran's Day, home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. And I am trying to stay as busy and out of the house as possible in between, but to be honest, it doesn't seem to be very effective so far. (Not that I plan on stopping.)

I'm not the kind of guy that likes attention, quite frankly. This is a bit of a special occasion, if you will...

Level 3 thread loss going on. . . sorry to hear of your situation, and here's a big  for ya.

I've been in a similar situation myself, having moved from California out here to Boston at the request of my ex-girlfriend. She decided during the move (after I'd already quit my job, given up my apartment and sold all my furniture) that she didn't want to continue the relationship. . . of course, since we'd both dropped every dime we had into getting a place in Mass., I was stuck living with her for about 6 months after that. . . it was a pretty nasty situation, so I can definitely relate.

Sorry to hear it man, and trust me, you aren't the only one to be stuck in such a crappy situation.

20. Man, that's horrible
I'm just glad I'm not in a totally place... at least I've got my friends here! That really must've been difficult for you.

Why is it that important things like this couldn't come up, ya know, maybe a few months earlier? Certainly would've been nice!!! :grr:

It's like "HEY! Don't you think you could've said something . . . BEFORE I spent thousands of dollars to make this happpen?" :grr:

:)

That was in '98 and I STILL get pissed thinking about it :) Last I heard she was married to some dude in New Hampshire and had a kid . . . god help the poor bastard.

:-) Thanks, I needed the laugh too.

No chance of moving out. Way too late to find a sublet and breaking the lease would cost $3,000, of which I hardly have 1/30th.

27. VtS, hang in there. It'll get better, and good thoughts coming at ya....
and it's probably time to start looking around a little bit. You won't be falling in love again real soon, but there are all sorts of friendships and relationships that smooth the transition.

32. Yeah, I do intend to start looking again.
Of course, anything I get into will inevitably be complicated by the fact that I live with my ex, but I'll let her (whomever that may be) make the decision on that.

Really though, girlfriends come around about as often as Haley's Comet for me anyway. I think all I'll be doing is looking and/or failing until we move out anyway. But, ya never know...
