Mulch fire keeps burning in Goochland

http://www.nbc12.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WWBT/MGArticle/WBT_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1031784899186

two-acre fire at a mulching business on the Goochland County line, just behind Wyndham and Short Pump Town Center area, has been burning at more than 1,000 degrees and is expected to keep on burning.

The fire began at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and fire fighters say they cannot fight the fire with water because of how hot the fire is burning. The water would simply evaporate. Instead, firefighters built a fire wall to contain it and let the fire burn overnight. The fire could burn for weeks or months, officials said.

Goochland is one of the rural counties near Richmond. Well it was, now it is the outer reaches of white flight....they are fleeing each other at this point.

4. I don't think my city is big enough to even have a BIG story. :)
We have to import our big stories from Modesto.

14. Actually, according to the vice principal at my daughter's
elementary school....yes, there actually is a VICE principal....we are the next ground zero.

He has taken the screening of volunteers to such an extreme, I almost think I should call the ACLU.

9. LOL
At least that's better than the local paper in Emporia (where my dad's side of the family is from). I swear if somebody's lawnmower breaks down it's front page news.
