So, there's a certain small coffee house venue in my area that I won't name. I was hoping to videotape a certain artist there tonight, as I have his permission to do so. I also have permission to tape the opening act.
The coffee house actually has an audio/video taping policy on their website that states that they require "prior written permission" from the venue and the artist. No problem, I thought. I'll write them and ask. So I did, and discovered that I actually need to sign several waivers and get permission TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE. Did I mention the website only says "prior written permission"? NOTHING about waivers or two weeks advance notice.
I'm afraid they might kick me out if I actually look at the performer, as they might think I'm infringing on some sort of intellectual property rights. :)
