Ok what hair restoration drug should I ask about?
I am going to see my doctor tomorrow.

I have the widow's peak going hard. That was ok.

Still, I am starting to just now thin in the back.

With my head shape and general build going shaved would look seriously silly and makes my wife wince at the mention.

So what treatments should I ask about?

Anybody know?

1. You can get Rogaine without a prescription
and that has worked pretty well for me, in terms of stopping or at least slowing hair loss. If you want a prescription you can try finasteride. But insurance won't pay for it for cosmetic use, it's expensive, and the recent study of prostate cancer risks is scary. I used it for a couple of years, got some regrowth, then stopped. Good luck.

2. accept your baldness
Seriously. I don't know why men get so upset about it.
Like most women I know, I don't see why thinning hair is such a big deal in men.

And for heaven's sake, don't ever do a comb-over!

But if you must treat it, Rogaine is one drug that's used.

3. do a combover
grow it long on one side and part it by your ear, then comb over. Secure with plenty of hairspray, and avoid athletic endeavors.

Ask Jim Trafficant for the name of his toupee supplier.

Accept it as gracefully as possible.

For the last 20 years (off and on) I've had a sexual relationship with a balding man. We have some serious chemistry going. Yikes!
A confident man is very sexy - regardless of his hair or lack thereof.

4. That's easy for you to say, you have hair
You just don't know the heartbreak.

I had good results with Rogaine, although I am progressively losing hair. Thanks to the early poster who posted the down side of finasteride/Propecia.

5. Dude, don't do it.

I have been balding since I was seventeen. It is mostly gone on the top, but I will never ever use any of those drugs. There is no reason to let vanity be the cause for becoming a walking chemistry experiment.

Let nature take its course and be cool with it. If you are worried about the fairer sex, I have found that being comfortable inside your own skin is more attractive to most women that I would want to be with than a bushy head of hair.

8. My wife actually suggesting I ask
I am also going for a minor league nail infection (nothing too gross).

I was surprised she wanted me to ask and a little hurt. We have been married for seven years. I asked why and she said because she could notice a slight thinning in the back. It hurt some. Honestly, it did.

I have had the widow's peak which started at about 19 yrs of age. I do not even have a bald spot in back yet. It has just now starting to thin a bit.

9. Tell your wife that Propecia makes some men's willies turn
into wandas. The drug used in Propecia has also been shown to increase the risk of prostrate cancer when take for its original prupose (which is much stronger dosages than for hair restoration).

To me the risk of side effects is not worth having hair.

6. Accepting nature is one thing.....
If you're in your 30's, 40's, or 50's but its a little harder when you're 25 and you notice the top is getting thinner slowly but surely.

Seems I inherited my dad's hair pattern where he reached a just-a-few-strands-on-top level of baldness at an early age but stayed there for the rest of his life.

The only thing that gets me is I sport a mid back ponytail so at some point I'll be rocking the skullet look.
