Anybody watch Nip/Tuck?
FX trotted out its latest original drama last night, about two plastic surgeons. I am a big fan of the Shield and I liked Lucky also, and liked Julian McMahon in Profiler, so I thought I'd give this one a try. Did anyone watch? Comments?

1. More garbage TV
I watched a few minutes of N&T. Some gratuitous T&A mixed in with some mediocre acting . The soul-searching surgeon attempts to give the show a social conscience, but the pathetic acting wrecks the whole mess. All this from Rupert Murdoch's network. Who knows what mind-numbing subliminal messages Rupert has imbedded in this TV twinkie?

I predict it will be a huge success if they add a little more T&A.

Turn it off and read a book before it rots your brain any further!

2. I find it therapeutic
I'm pretty immune to Murdock's RW propaganda, and often find good drama very relaxing.

As for reading, I am unfortunately spending 3-4 hrs/day *outside* of work reading journals and books on Differential Equations. There is nothing on TV more mind-numbing or brain-rotting than that!

4. No ... but I saw ...
"FaceLifts from HELL" on TLC.

Basically a show that showed quite gruesome botched plastic surguries. I still do not understand why people do this kind of thing. I am more than for reconstructive plastic surgury to fix ailments caused by injury and/or disease. As for just wanting to look better, it seems stupid and risky.

This program showed (via hidden camera), a house call from a non-medical salesperson, where she was attempting to talk a woman (a model) into getting a face lift, because she NEEDS it. I think this salesperson should be put in jail.

Cheers
Drifter

5. I watched it...
but wont be watching it again. It was THAT bad. Not much T&A, not like the other poster would make you think. Horrible acting, ridiculous story line...(facelifting a drugdealer/childmolester, fat spewing from a lipo machine all over the surgeon and nurse, adding ham to a body so the crocs would eat it, a gangster torturing another surgeon with botox shots etc). Just more nonsense on TV.

6. He had more "charm" in Charmed.
That was an awful pilot. One of the stars was a regular on the "Charmed" series (bad as it is) and had more appeal there than here. It won't last.
