1. Reality tv is by definition stupidity at it's finest.
I can proudly say I don't watch any of it.

4. I admit it
I LOVE bad reality television. The current worst one has to be Paradise Hotel, but for Love or Money, Joe Millionaire, and America's Next Top Model are definately in the running.

12. You know why? Because it is so much cheaper to produce
Paying good writers and actors and having lavish and varied sets is an expensive proposition. The first proliferation was with the news shows. ``60 Minutes'' is a classic. Now we have ``60 Minutes II,'' two versions of ``48 Hours,'' ``20/20'' and how many times is ``Dateline'' on per week? Game shows like ``Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'' and ``The Weakest Link'' were the next wave. No comedy or dramatic writers and how many actors were involved? Reality shows are only the latest and, to my mind, the least appealing. I used to work with the commercial networks and recognize the pattern, here. They are looking for shows that are cheaper to produce. Reality shows have, inexplicably, found a mass audience so they have sprouted up like mushrooms. Just another symptom of the ``dumbing down'' of America, in my estimation.

8. LOL
Technically, the nightly news is "reality tv".

Personally, I think religious programming and the right wing media are much bigger threats to our culture than some silly game shows. I've never understood the virulence people have about shows like Survivor. It's just a TV show, people!

13. BRAVO Network has the mutha of all reality shows coming...
Gay guy gets to pick a mate from a stable of men....only some of the men ain't gay.

I can only imagine how f*cked up that is gonna get. Won't be watching that show... What truly straight guy would volunteer to be on a show like that, anyhow?

I would rather see season 1 of Temptation Island - now *that* was groundbreaking. :-)

17. Except
That's not true. The show is called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. It's a make over show.

21. Okay
Just took a look, they do indeed. "Boy Meets Boy", six episodes. Gay bachelor, some of the candidates are straight, but paid to act gay.

The most interesting thing about that would be the study of stereotypes. Can the straight guys act gay? Will it be obvious that they don't have a clue?

Will this prove or disprove the "gaydar" theory?

Either way, this one I'm not really interested in at all. Bravo has disappointed me.

I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here. More like I'm Barely A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

Besides not being a fan, I have only found one big crush from them - Colleen Haskell. Soap operas have been much better for producing big crushes of mine (examples: Aubrey Dollar (Marina on GL,) Sharon Case (Sharon on Y&R,) Lindsey McKeon (Marah on GL,) Erin Hershey Presley (Allison on Port Charles.) So why watch reality shows when I have soaps?

16. I chose other.
though ive never watched a reality tv show, I used to shoutcast a college comedy show where they followed the last part of the Joe Millionaire bullshit...

so I vote Joe Millionaire... or that "Am I Hot" or whatever show that I heard about, the former show the societies lust for wealth and nothing but, and the latter shows the shallowness.
