Durham Cindy vigil report
I went to the Durham candelight vigil for Cindy Sheehan this evening. I met up with dicksteele and he lent me a candle. :-)

This is a busy intersection in downdown Durham intersecting the downtown main road with the road that runs next to Duke East campus. It's also the sceneic tour of all of the now defunct tobacco factories.

All four corners were full! Best guess is about 400 showed up, about 300+ had signed up at Moveon.org.

We stood out there held signs and our lit candles. Towards the end we all sang "Where Have All the Flowers Gone."

What got me were all the young people driving by, so unconcerned that they couldn't, wouldn't possibly be drafted for this madness. :grr:

But we did get some unexpected honks. The guy in the huge old beat-up pickup with the monster ladders in the back, honked and gave us the  :D

4. Apparently about 2500 people in NC
signed up to go to several around the state. That's a lot. :-)

It was a lot of fun and very worthwhile. :-)

5. we had about 2-300 in Pittsburgh!
in a local park/s. It was very cool! It was great to see everyone standing there, with their candles, kids and babies, and old friends. Lots of Moms for Peace and great signs. I forgot to take the Digital camera, but take my word for it, it was great! :hi:
