Who else is going to PENNSIC?
Ok, DUers, there must be more than one SCAdian on this board (me), and more than one person going to Pennsic. Can you wait?

If you are going, post here. Tell me all about it!

Also, if you're interested, you can find me at Pennsic at House of the Three Roses encampment (E-13, Brewers Rd./Howard's Fenway). Look for the Soviet Canuckistan flag (gules, a maple leaf or). Come by and say hi!

1. I'm determined to go one of these years
I'm not a member of SCA, but I'm involved in science fiction fandom, and you don't need me to tell you about the overlap there. I've talked to many folks who go to Pennsic and it sounds like a great time. Burning Man sounds like a great time, too, but I have an aversion to hot weather and overflowing porta-potties! :hippie:

3. And...
"Burning Man sounds like a great time, too, but I have an aversion to hot weather and overflowing porta-potties! :hippie: "

And that's different from Pennsic because...?

(I'm kidding. They weren't bad at Pennsic last year.)

4. Be sure to dress medievally...
If there's anything we hard-core Pennsicgoers hate, it's "tourists," viz. the people who think that Pennsic is "something to do between Silver Leaf and Burning Man." (You always know them -- they walk around in leathers with raver beads and henna/woad tattoos all over, and look kind of like ferals, only rich.) Grab your garb, and come. Acceptable dress is 600-1600 CE, and make your best effort!

Anybody coming to Pennsic, drop by and see me. I'm Renata, in garb. :)

5. See you at the boat-burning?
If not before? Seriously, come to visit!

7. I'm usually there.
I, thankfully, haven't had a name to call. But I usually go in support of those who do.

I'll try to keep visiting your camp in mind. But, as you know, it's easy to loose track of all there is to do there. If I don't visit, have a nice war! ;)
