So I got this one to play out with....

But the traditional Ovation has a very deep back to it, about seven or eight inches...

I dunno why, but the first time I saw this painting by Steven Assael, I thought of Hopper's "Nighthawks." I'm far, far from "goth," but I think Assael is a fine painter.

I really needed that hug right now, thanks. I got annoyed with one of my house-mates old friends yesterday afternoon so I made last night into an Apple Martini night.

That helped a little. It would have been a better night if I could have found my copy of Road House that's gone missing. I started calling the video rental places until I found one that had a copy, then I decided to chuck it all, go to bed early and go buy another copy of the movie today.

Loss of videos is part of our daily life. Between Mr. Heidi and me, and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, we have so many DVDs that we've stopped keeping track of who owns what. Sorry someone made off with your copy of Roadhouse. :hug:

Dinner was great. Mr. Heidi doesn't like pizza too much, but it's one of my favorites, so he chokes it down once a month. :rofl:

In the last days of summer here, the light turns from cool blue to golden and warm. (I guess I only notice that because I paint. :shrug:) There's a saying about our part of Switzerland: "Der Süden ist Blau," or "The South s Blue," and that's true all spring and summer.

But man, I miss the smell of alfalfa fields in summer. :pals:

Back in the dark ages (before there were browsers) my hubby and I visited friends in Australia. One of the highlights of the trip was going to a rugby game. To say I was confused and bewildered by the behavior of the fans is an understatement. The first thing that was odd was during the national anthem. The blokes to the right of me were singing one song whilst the blokes left of me were singing another. The second thing was the blokes behind me were cheering wildly for the home team then after half-time these same burly guys where cheering on the visiting team.

So when we got back to the house I ask my host what up with that? He explained the national anthem had been re-written and some folks didn't like it and kept on singing the old one. As to the fair weather fans behind me goes, in Oz you can bet on the game in the stadium. So these guys probably had a bet on one team for the first half and the other for the second.
