Short, sad homecoming for soldier.

July 22, 2003 - MOBILE, AL July 2, 2003-- A Mobile solider is home from the war, but she can't stay. 20 year old Private First Class Jamella Sylvester heads back to the war zone after she buries her father.

Jamella's unit is tasked to repair and maintain Baghdad International Airport. For now, that's there, she's here. Kevlar helmet on the couch, gas mask on the dining room table. Despite the sad occasion, being home is far different than life on the front lines. "It's very hot 125. 130 degrees everyday we wake up at 5, get ready, eat chow at the chow hall and we get ready to move out to the airfield and repair it. I do that everyday." Jamella said, enjoying the air conditioning in her mother's apartment.
