5. I don't think you die of gall blatter attacks
If you load up on scrambled eggs or fried liver and onions it may cause a sharp pain on the right side below the rib-cage. A couple days of shredded wheat and skim milk, or rye-crackers and dried fruit and you'll be fine. You know you should lay off that greasy shit anyway.

15. I just visited a friend in the hospital where some of the gall bladder
tissue had turned necrotic as he was suffering alone like hell for three days. He ended up being in the hospital for over a week as they tried getting his infection controlled. Then he was in a rehab place next to the hospital for another week trying to get his muscle strength back.

14. Excuse me? You "don't think" people die of gall bladder attacks?
They can die a painful death from infection. Please, let's leave the serious ailments to the professionals with diplomas. They make enough mistakes as it is.

6. INTENSE pain in the right side of your abdomen
Edited on Thu Jul-21-05 11:14 PM by Lorien
under the ribcage, to the side of the stomach (under the liver)radiating into your back. Sometimes accompanied by nausea.

I had two last year and couldn't afford the surgery, so I tried a treatment that my mom's roommate recommended (it's gross but it works)!Drink 1/4 cup of virgin olive oil mixed with 1/4 cup of lemon juice every 15 minutes until 2 cups are consumed.I'll try to find a link (it's an old chinese remedy). The surgery was $25,000, BTW. Glad I found a way to avoid it!

7. Rye crackers and dried fruit
is an old Norwegian remedy, and a whole lot more palatable than olive oil and lemon juice. Two cups!! You'll shit green for a week.

10. Tried the crackers,
and the fruit (didn't help-I was in bad shape). It turns out that the recommended dosage of the olive oil is less than that. Regardless-IT'S TRULY VILE-but it cures what ails you!

I'd try the crackers first, then the olive oil if that doesn't work. Avoid fried foods, meats and nuts.

8. Found the link:
http://www.sensiblehealth.com/gallbladder.html

it requires less of the olive oil than I thought. I did it twice because my attack was so acute. YUCK!

13. please go to a doctor. Everyone I know who has had a gall
bladder attack or attacks ends up getting them removed. They all describe it the same way and that is really intense abdominal pain, where you can't even get up. The women will say it is worse than having a baby. This tends to run in my family although I have never had a problem. There can be so many really bad complications from this I really want you to see a MD fast

and it hurt a little at night and got worse and worse until it was all day and excruciating. It was infected and had to come out.

18. My mom had a "bad" gallbladder for years and never had the surgery. I
often wondered it it was the source of her digestive system cancer that stuck like 40 years later.

19. Please see a doctor. Gallbladder trouble is a serious ailment...
Mine would be out right now if it had not been so soon after a heart attack. As it was it took a week in hospital to get the infection down.
