2. Just a reminder

when GMAC sends you back the title on your car, pay the money to have them taken off as a lien holder. One day, should you have an accident, you'll be glad that you took them off - it prevents insurers from sending your award money straight to GMAC.

The title's under my married name, so I have to get it changed anyhow (I deliberately waited so I wouldn't have to do it twice).

In WI, we keep our own titles, but it's marked with the lein. You better believe I'll be getting that changed soon!

Here in Texas, you'd be getting a new title. A nice blue one, instead of the red one you get when there's a lien on the car. I remember paying off my first ever new car. It didn't seem real until I got the blue title.
