DU Gathering in DC for the next anti-war protest: Sept 24th, 2005

It'll be a full day of events starting with meeting up before the rally to grab some breakfast, marching at the event and an afterparty for those who are staying (or live in the area) later that night.

This is going to be the first major protest in DC since the Downing Street Memo, Plamegate and the nomination, so now more than ever it's important we get out on the streets and make our voices heard.

Click Here for the main DU link for updates about the DU gathering. You can also PM me hotel information (I have my room, but I might be switching hotels again depending on where the protest is located) and closer to the event I'll post meeting places for breakfast, the DU protest and the after party. We got about 2-3 dozen people already making plans to be in DC whether coming directly for the protest or joining one of the many bus trips across the country that is heading to DC.

If you've always wanted to meet DUers this is a great chance to spend a day doing something really great. If you have questions or details, please PM me. Hope to see you there!!

1. I would love to go and meet everybody
And I just might....

But my health precludes me from joining in the actual march....

O2 tanks can get in the way, and could be dangerous.....

I have a friend we were going to visit in the DC area, might as well make it then

12. Skinner & EarlG have him at DU HQ along with our banner
Although I'm not sure if those 2 will be at the even I'll have to make arrangements to get our stuff. It would be nice to have the banner we used at the March for Choice protest in 2004

4. I'm still working on it.
This last trip took a pretty big financial chunk out of me, although it needed to be taken. So, I might not be able to swing the finances at this time. Getting time off from work is another issue. Weekend trips kick my butt, but this is a worthwhile event. I enjoyed my last march on DC.

8. Dave, if this helps you out
you can stay with us and we'll help cover the cost of the hotel room. Just pay what you can afford.

11. Actually a place to stay is the least of my worries.
If push comes to shove, I can stay with friends in Alexandria or with Kim in Silver Spring. But, I appreciate the offer.

It's the airfare. I'm really trying to keep a lid on my debt. If I can get a good deal, I'll go.
