Beer can chicken for dinner!
I use a spice rub under the skin, inside the cavity, and all over the outside of the skin; but if you just take a roaster right out of the package, cram a Miller Lite up its ass, and roast it on the grill over indirect heat, it will still be the best chicken you ever had.

1. I actually have a tool to do this.
It's a metal base with a spot to put the beer can. You shove whole thing in the chicken and it stands upright on the grill. You're right, it's AWESOME.

Just a suggestion, use Dr. Pepper or Mountain Dew, it's even better.

5. Gack ! Gagging on Dr. Pepper up the pollo butt imagery
I've lost my appetite, thank you very much.

Please pass the organic, wholistic, (non-GMO) extra-virgin, gourmet-quality, fried with tamari and sesame seeds, garnished with parsley tofu...

6. I don't get it
The miller lite is pierced or opened, right? Otherwise wouldn't you have bits of chicken shotgunned all over your oven or grill?

And shit, man, if you're gonna use a beer, use a beer, not piss :P

8. You even get to drink half of it! Then sprinkle a bit of the rub in it
and it foams like all get out.

Try a beer can turkey (use foster's bitter---yum!) or a beercan duck on a tall boy. Gooooood eats!

9. Yeah, the beer is opened.
And interestingly enough, I have tried it with Sapporo, Sam Adams, Guinness Stout, New England Pale Ale, and, yes, Miller Lite. It doesn't make a lick of difference.

10. Then I'm inclined to think the beer is little more than ceremonial
if you can't taste the difference between Sam Adams, Guiness Stout, and Miller Lite I doubt there's any beer taste at all.

12. More than ceremonial, it steams the chicken from the inside.
I've seen (but not tried) recipes which use white wine, apple juice, and lemonade. I would imagine that they would impart a different taste to the meat, but apparently beers, after they've been boiled, taste pretty much the same.
