I bought the dorkiest car today (but it suits me).
This is my new Scion Xa:

It's boxy, not at all sporty, and it's a kind of turbulent ride. But it's inexpensive, very fuel-efficient (31 city, 38 highway), has a personality ("total geek") and, since it's made by Toyota, probably very reliable. Sort of like me, except for the "made by Toyota" part.

This is a car that proudly announces to the world "I really could care less what you think of me." :D

So what does your car say about you?

46 1/2 hours!!:woohoo:

4. That's a cool ride...and I'm no geek.
The right color and the right wheels and that's a cool ride.

And I agree, "who cares, it beats walking and it beats public transportation"

5. I don't know "what my car says about me."
I'll listen to your opinion, though...if SB likes you so much, you must be a decent sort, and have a brain or two as well.

Here's Missy:

I'll get a convertable after my first million. :D

23. Whenever you're around, we'll go for a ride.
If you're competent with a manual tranny, you can even drive.

But just for a little while. I'm a lousy passenger.

6. I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra
30/37 mpg, emissions standards even stricter than California's (the strictest in the US), rated as one of the Top 15 Green cars due to this fact, and affordable.

Nissan builds them in Mississippi and Tennessee, so I can have the economic and reliable Japanese car factor going while keeping Americans employed in the shitty Bush era. Everybody wins.

I love my car.

But I think they look cool enough. Original styling. I've got a Hyundai Sonata. Nice car, but it looks like so many other cars on the road. Yours is original.

22. I have a Toyota
that is 19 years old. It drives like a dream and the millage is so good I only have to fill it up once a month. I had a spark plug wire replaced recently, and the mechanic said the engine is still in excellent condition. Every two years I take it to have any rust on it taken care of. I will drive this car until the mechanic throws his hands up in the air and says "it just can't be fixed". With money I save on gas, no monthly car payment, and no interest on a car payment, I'd be a fool to give this car up.

25. "secure self-image"
Insecure people don't buy plastic 4 cylinder station wagons. Nobody's going to be impressed by a car with a stock tape deck in the dash, stained cloth interior, french fry packets and 7up cans on the floor and a backseat dominated by a car seat the size of a barcolounger. However, it was cheap, it works, it's safe and the insurance is reasonable. I think if it says anything about LeftyDad and I it screams "too fucking practical for thier own good."

When we replace it, it will be with an AWD minivan. We're so wild and daring. :eyes:
