Jude Law publicly apologizes to fiancee for affair with nanny
LONDON - Jude Law publicly apologized to his actress-fiancee, Sienna Miller, expressing his "sincere regret" over an affair with one of his children's nanny.

"Following the reports in today's papers, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us," the 32-year-old actor said in a statement Monday to the British Press Association.

"I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused," said Law, star of "Alfie" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley" films.

The publicity firm that represents Miller told The Associated Press the 23-year-old actress had no comment on Law's statement.

Miller was Law's co-star in the remake of "Alfie." The couple became engaged on Christmas Day 2004.

5. If the nanny knew that
he was involved with someone else, what was she thinking getting involved with him in the first place. Jude and the nanny need to practice a lot more "self control".:spank:

7. Maybe she used and discarded him.
Why do we always assume men are the users and discarders? Or maybe it was mutual. That happens, too.

19. Maybe, possibly

but in this case he made no mention of her at all. He got in trouble with her, yet makes no mention of her and how his behavior has undoubtedly affected her life. She will most likely have a hard time getting a nanny job after this.

Jude, he doesn't need defending - this won't do more than perhaps exclude him from the latest Disney role.

edit, wrong kind of role :donut:

9. so who was watching the kid?
I don't understand publicly apologizing for something that is obviously a private situation. I had no idea he was screwing the nanny until this.

10. Agreed. Why did he feel the need to issue a public apology?
Seriously, who else had their faith in this joker betrayed besides his SO?

I'm so over celebrities thinking that every thing they do is worth public exposure or acknowledgement.

21. I saw it on the BBC crawl as a reporter was describing
the carnage from that huge bomb in Iraq.. I thought..CNN has invaded BBC..

How freakishly odd to even CARE about celebrities' meandering sexlives.. These people live in a perpetualt stage of "junior high".. They "date and fall in love with" every co-star in every project (or so it seems).. I am sick of seeing airtime used for every "crush" they get,and for their over-the-top protestations of true love forever./...(of course in movie time..forever is until the next project)..

12. Too much information
Like we are supposed to care?

If my man issued a public apology like this I'd drop him. I mean, does the whole world have to know?

15. Jeez.
I used to really like him.

But he already messed up Sadie Frost's life by screwing around with Sienna Miller, why should Sienna assume anything would be different for her?

Jude, you're a creep. A cute creep, but no matter how hard you try to dress up shit, it's still shit.

Hopefully, Sienna can see the pattern developing with Jude. Sadie must be feeling relieved she's out of that relationship.

to Sadie then I think she deserves it, if that wasn't the case then I feel for her, but not if she stays.

to Sadie Frost, just proves he must be nuts. :(

29. This has totally ruined my life. I won't be able to sleep tonight.
Man that's harsh.

Unbelievable from a respected actor and father.

Incredible.

What's become of our role models.

I can't accept this sort of thing.

In the US?

Not in our country.

How could this happen?

Where are our values?

How will ever learn to get past this?
