1. A squid in a polyethylene bag is fast and bulbous
(a line from that album that sticks in my memory forever)

4. "Come little one with yer little dimpled fingers, Gimme one...
...'n I'll buy you uh cherry phosphate...
Take you down t' the foamin' brine 'n water
'n show you the wooden tits
On the Goddess with the pole out s'full sail
That tempted away yer peg legged father
I was shanghaied by uh high hat beaver moustache man
'n his pirate friend
I woke up in vomit 'n beer in uh banana bin
'n uh soft lass with brown skin
Bore me seven babies with snappin' black eyes
'n beautiful ebony skin
'n here it is I'm with you my daughter"

5. The key to that album
is expressed in the song "The Blimp." You don't really have to have a fly's eye to see it, but it is a distinctly cubist take on the blues-- broken up into tiny cells as small as four bars at a time, much like the multiple lenses of the insect eye.

I love this stuff.

6. I had Rockette Morton tell me that he really liked my playing...
a couple of weeks ago. Maybe the fact that my partner and I were wearing goat and rooster masks while playing a twenty minute feedback opus had something to do with it. I dunno :)
Nikki Sudden was also there and gave us a big thumbs up. It was like living in an old issue of Trouser Press or Forced Exposure.
