9. Spy Sweeper is a good anti-spyware program,

but you have to pay a yearly subscription to keep it updated.

I use AVG free as my anti-virus program, and ZoneAlarm free as a firewall. Ad-Aware and Spybot are good anti-spyware programs that I also use.

I had it running in the background until very recently, when I realized that it's been months since it actually reported blocking anything.

I upload AVG periodically. It seems to keep viruses at bay.
