Today marks one month with no caffeine!
Edited on Sat Jul-16-05 01:12 PM by Scooter24
Today is the one month anniversary of when I gave up Pepsi and caffeine in general. In that time I have lost 10 lbs, going from a fat 160 lbs to a slim and tone 150 lbs. Woo, what a rough ride it has been! Headaches, grouchy, fatigue, etc.

:woohoo:

I think I'm going to treat myself to some pizza today :)

1. Congrats
For giving up your addiction. Have you seen improvements in other ways? Are you less anxious? Do you sleep better? I realize that it might be a while to see those benefits if you are still going through withdrawal.

2. Yes...

I became heavily dependant on Pepsi through college drinking it to stay up late. It was ruining my kidneys and I needed to let go.

Yes! I sleep a lot better. I also workout regularly as well to build my metabolism and endurance.

I'm steadily changing my diet towards healthier choices, but when you work long hours, sometimes you just have to depend on fast food. Eventually I will phase out the fast food dependence and learn to cook my own meals. Baby steps :)

Thank you!

6. I have been drinking much less caffeine
the past two months and have been sleeping better. I'm not sure if being caffeine free is totally the reason since my allergies are no longer going haywire because of my ex-roommates dogs.

I haven't given up soda though, still drinking caffeine free.

7. Giving up caffeine is miraculous
I've done it occasionally, usually about once a year. The longest was for six months. The difference is unbelievable. I only ever have one cup a day, and that's a cappuccino in the morning--I can't stand any more coffee than that. So it always amazed me the huge changes I undergo when I just give that up. Yes, I sleep better, much better. But also I feel less anxious, generally calmer and more peaceful throughout the day. It's not a subtle difference.

Everyone should give up caffeine for just a month, to see what it's like. I usually work up to it by getting a half-decaf for a couple of weeks, then going to full decaf.
