1. Lava lamps are warm and friendly

My grandmother had one - I think that's the first one I ever saw. Eventually, I think the material lost it's ability to percolate, but it was a lot of fun to watch while I was growing up. I hope they never disappear.

I used to have the BEST lava lamp in the whole wide world, but my cat knocked it off the table and it broke, leaving a mess of glass, fluid and lava all over my floor :(
