Man Again Drinks Holy Water at Ga. Church
ATHENS, Ga. - A man drinking holy water at St. Joseph's Catholic Church was removed from the church by police on Wednesday. The man, Stacy Lamar Bradford, has a history of trespassing at the church, said Tom Rocks, the church's office manager.

On Oct. 15, Bradford was arrested at St. Joe's after he assaulted the church's pastor, broke a processional crucifix and broke the window of a police cruiser, Rocks said.

He was barred from the church for five years, but he continues to come in the church about every two weeks to drink holy water, which is kept for use in baptisms and other sacraments.

"I've called 911 every two weeks for the last six months," said Rocks. "The big question is that we know he has a problem and we don't want to cause any more problems for him, but since he has attacked people before, we're concerned for people's safety."

1. Can't he just lift a Dasani from 7-11?
I mean, even if you have a beef with religion, that's too much.

2. Holy water is some highly contaminated stuff.
He's more of a threat to HIMSELF than anybody else, if he keeps doing that. I'm getting nauseous just thinking about it.... :(

5. Good point--a little discipline from the sisters might cure his
habit (not intended, but funny anyway!).

6. Maybe your Sr Agnes was a chum of Sr Richard in my former
home town.....when someone put a bit of frogspawn in the school chapel christening font to see if it would 'miraculously' speed up the process of metamorphosis - the biology subject she had been teaching to 11 year old that week - she made the entire class stay behind school every day for a week and scrub out the lavatory block....

4. I know people who drink holy water for throat ailments. They don't
take if from the font but get a church employee to draw if from the vat that the church uses to fill the fonts.
