I just finished reading "The Half-Blood Prince"... (spoilers and edited)

If you've not read the book, then do NOT highlight this text. It will ruin the entire thing for you. THIS IS NOT A PRANK POST. AND DON'T READ THE REPLIES, EITHER.

Wow. I've heard that a major character was going to die, but I couldn't believe that it was Dumbledore. I am very surprised that Rowling had Snape do it. Very. Surprised. I think that most people thought that Snape was truly rehabilitated. I thought that at the end of the book, Snape would do something good, with all of the obvious hints that he was evil. And then Rowling turned around and did the blatantly obvious... which wasn't obvious at all because it was too obvious. #@!#$%@!!

Ron and Hermione? About time. And finally, Harry gets together with Ginny, then breaks it off. I'll be shocked if Ginny doesn't find a way to come along with Harry... perhaps at Bill and Fleur's wedding. DAMN IT!! I'm going to miss Dumbledore. And who knew that Snape was so damn formidable? He took Harry out effortlessly, when the other Death Eaters had struggled with him.

And no Hogwarts for the final book? Just sort of a quest for all of these Horcruxes? And how will the werewolves and the giants and the dementors be faced down without Dumbledore? If it were anyone else, I'd bet that Rowling will have Harry in a position to kill Snape and spare him... but at the rate she's going, the series will end with Harry's death or something.

(on edit) Oh my gosh, I just realized something... R.A.B... REGULUS BLACK!! So I bet it was Sirius's little brother who did away with one of Voldemort's Horcruxes!!

Also - Harry saw Dumbledore plead with Snape. Whatever Harry thought, I'll bet that Dumbledore was pleading with Snape to kill him so that Draco Malfoy wouldn't. It'd be like Dumbledore to plead for the life of an "innocent" - even one who didn't want to be an innocent as badly as Draco. Nevertheless, there's now zero redemption for Snape.

Oh well, it's going to be a long 3-4 year wait.

7. I know of such an idiot.
She didn't understand it even though they forshadowed it in a few books. She also told me I was full of it when I told her who I thought would die and that someone would turn back to the other side.

I'm loving this. I like proving her wrong all the time.

8. I am way behind.
I thought there was something about a major character in book 5, which I am determined to never read. Your last line is the reason I gave up after book 4. The way things are going, they're gonna crucify me.

9. How, in the name of all that is sacred, did you possibly finish the book
already?

I did not read the spoiler, so I do not know what happens, but it has only been available here for about 3.5 hours.

10. I read very quickly.
I finished it in about 4 hours. That's a little over 2 pages per minute, but the book is intended to be readable, and I'm used to reading things that are awfully dense reading (I'm in a PhD program).

I've always read and written very quickly. Don't ask me why.

11. DEVIL WORSHIPER!
You're going to rot in the pits of hell for reading that trash! Your mind has been poisoned, there is no hope for you now but to drop to your knees and beg forgiveness from our lord jesus. :sarcasm: (as if that needed to be added).

It all sounds quite exciting. I've never read any of the books, but I've seen all of the movies. I imagine that will be the case again this time.

Quite clever with the highlighting method, how do you do that?

13. Nope.
These people just don't give kids enough credit. They can tell the difference between fantasy and reality. Protesting the Harry Potter books is stupid, and I don't care if you're just another person on the street or the Pope, it's stupid.

As for the highlighting method, I just colored the text white... if you get into the HTML lookup table, you can see that there's a command for text that allows color changes, and all you do is erase the size and face commands and type font color="white" in brackets.

You can do other colors like red, green, yellow, cyan, blue, magenta, with color names, and even more like aquamarine, chocolate, blue violet, brass, bright gold, brown, bronze, copper, coral, dark green, and many more if you have HTML color codes which you can find at http://www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/alley/5616/color.htm

That's one page per 13.8 seconds. Pretty amazing.
