Geek Question - have you ever ran/been on a network with a server named...

I used to work for a dot-com, back in the day. We merged with another dot-com and consequently our networks merged, too.

We ran into problems when our main web server shared a name with the other co.'s mail server (Riker). The network jocks weren't paying attention when they did the merge, and we lost our web site for a day.

He/She was a bad-motherfuka - I told our programmers and tester to TRY and break it and they couldn't, but that was mostly because I was running Oracle 8 on it, instead of MS SQL :D

The company I work for has bizarre server names. Someone is a Disney nut and the test servers have odd names like Woody and Buzz. :rofl:
