Geek Question - have you ever ran/been on a network with a server named...
Zeus?

In my experience, it's not a real network until ~something~ is named Zeus.

1. No. You are mistaken.
It's not a real network until at least three nodes are named after Godzilla movie monsters. :-)

2. Or Riker. Or Kirk. Or Picard. Or Borg.
I used to work for a dot-com, back in the day. We merged with another dot-com and consequently our networks merged, too.

We ran into problems when our main web server shared a name with the other co.'s mail server (Riker). The network jocks weren't paying attention when they did the merge, and we lost our web site for a day.

Bloody trekkies :dunce:

13. My baby was called THOR
He/She was a bad-motherfuka - I told our programmers and tester to TRY and break it and they couldn't, but that was mostly because I was running Oracle 8 on it, instead of MS SQL :D

31. Hehehe...
I can't help but laugh when I see anyone running a database on SQL...the fact that even Microsoft don't use their own products for mission-critical tasks (their web servers run on Apache, for instance) should tell you something...
