BUSTED reading DU at work!
I had to confess my user ID to the person who busted me.

Her BF is a DUer too, and we all live in the same city.

1. You are finally out of the closet! Have you confessed you're a liberal
who supports RKBA?

4. I took 13 of my coworkers to a shooting range for Team Building last year
It was only my 6th week on the job. Nine of them had no prior experience with firearms.

:hi:

It's funny. My conservative friends think I'm a liberal hippie, my most liberal friends think I'm a redneck.

12. What does shooting guns have to do with team building?
Do you band together to fight the forces of evil in the workplace?

13. If you can trust your coworker standing next to you with a loaded pistol,
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 04:52 PM by slackmaster
...then you can trust your coworker with a production database or Web server.

Shooting guns is all about religiously following instructions and observing the safety rules. We did some team marksmanship exercises that required cooperation, planning, and strategy. It all fits.

Not only that, but the BIG boss got the best score. He'd never handled a gun before in his life. He shot my 1911 as well as I do on a good day.

14. Oh, I get it
Thanks. I was hoping you would take my question seriously. I was really not trying to be silly.

I am in education. I am also the professional development chair for my school. But I don't think the district would allow us to go to a shooting range for PD. LOL

Why not give it a try? You might be surprised at the response from teachers/instructors who want to learn something about guns. I'll bet your local law enforcement heads will jump at the chance to host your group.

19. Now just stop and think about this for a minute.
And remember school shootings. And the fact that weapons are strictly prohibited - by federal law - in school buildings.

Besides, everything we do for PD has to relate to student achievement. Learning to fire a gun would not really help raise test scores. Pointing a gun at kids might - but that suggestion would probably get me fired. LOL

6. I'd never confess
my user ID to the boss-man. He'd use the search feature and I'd be so dead.

17. I think that day I was otherwise occupied configuring my laptop
to stream AAR without connecting through the company network. So that time wasn't wasted; it was self-directed skills advancement.
