My Goodness!! Evita is a coldhearted killer!!

Does this look like a killer to you? Evita is this dainty little cat with shiny silver-grey hair. Her favorite place to sleep is at the corner of my bed with this old oversize pillow I bought from Ikea like 5 years ago. She hates cat toys, cat nip, human contact and everything else except for when she has her hair brushed. Evita has had a rough life though. She's probably about 4 years old and she spent most of her first 3 years of life out in the wild of Delaware surviving on her own and probably popping out alot of kittens. But a local shelter caught her in their Trap-Neuter-Release program and I decided to adopt her because she really is a sweety of a cat.

About 2 years ago a bat got into my apartment and damn if she didn't catch that thing. Well last night she was at it again, this time a small grey mouse was in my home. About 3:30 in the morning I woke up to this sound like one of my cats was in a major fight. And there she was, my dainty little silver-grey cat with a mouse dangling from her petite lil mouth. My goodness, for a cat who hates cat toys, it took me a good 20 minutes to get this thing out of her clutches. She was playing with it like it was the greatest cat toy she could ever have. Fortunately the lil grey mouse was dead because she was batting him around like she was Beckham trying to score the winning goal at a soccor game.

Although disturbed over the fact that there was a mouse in my home, at least I know that I have the best ammunition for killing them with Evita (BTW Abbott does what he is most talented at - he was nearby licking his butt while she was destroying the mouse).

I'm thinking of finding a few no-kill mousetraps - I would rather find a more humane way of ridding mice than through the jaws of my killer cat

Give her a pat for me. She did better than Lily did with the rats. Of course they were outside.

You don't need any mouse traps. It sounds cruel, but let Evita do what she was meant to do.

4. If you go to QVC.com or HSN.com, you can get a device

which you plug into your wall and it sends out some type of signal that drives rodents out of your house. I have two and they work great. I forgot shopping network I bought it from. And since I am at the office, I can't check for the name. But I think if you put in a search, you can locate it.

5. I understand

at my parents' house this past weekend, the cat (a stray himalayan that adopted them, tho' he's still kinda wild) had caught a bird. I heard the strange noise and looked out and saw him with the bird in his jaws running off the back deck. I went out and saw him in the yard. He froze when I said, "Cat! Please let go of that bird. I'm not angry, I know that's what cats do. Now let go and come get some dinner." He let the bird go, which promptly flew for the trees, and then ran around the side of the house.

Fortunately, he wasn't trained as a hunter in his younger days. Most creatures are relatively safe, but he doesn't need to practice. He's too cute to be a killer.
