I'm baaaack. Just drove into Dallas from Georgia.
I was on the road thirteen hours (808 miles). I drove a total of 2500 miles in the last seven days. My head is spinning I am so tired. Did I miss anything while I was away?

3. Route:
Edited on Mon Jul-21-03 09:43 PM by DemoTex
Dallas to Griffin, Georgia via I-20 to the Alabama line, then US-80 through Selma to Montgomery, then I-85 to the LaGrange exit, then GA-18 (?) through Greenville and Woodbury, then up through Molena, Concord, and Zebulon to US-19, and into Griffin on US-19.

Then Griffin to Greenville, SC via GA-16 to Monticello, GA-81 to Madison, US-441 to Commerce and I-85 to Greenville.

Greenville, SC to Rosman and Brevard, NC via US-276 to Traveler's Rest, SC-288 through Pumpkin Town to US-178, and 178 to Rosman. After mucho driving the mountains around Rosman, I took US-64 to Brevard. Then I took US-276 over Caesar's Head to return to Greenville.

Greenville to Griffin on Sunday was I-85 to Atlanta, I-285 to I-675, then I-75 to GA-16 and into Griffin. Today I left Griffin on the reverse route I took from Dallas last week.

That should add up to about 2200 miles. The additional 300 some-odd miles were in the mountains house-hunting.

5. scenic route right?
I am just trying to find the best route to North Carolina and thought your route might help. But it scares me with so many turns.

6. The more-or-less scenic route.
I was very constrained by time, so I spent way more time on interstates than I like. In fact, the little jog across GA-16 to US-441 and up through Athens to I-85 was to avoid the hell that is I-75 south of Atlanta. I thought that I-75 would be OK on my return Sunday morning. WRONG! Avoid I-75 from I-675 to Macon for the next few months.

Where are you originating? Maybe I could make additional comments if I knew where you are starting your trip (a general area is OK, if you don't want to be specific).

10. Where'd ya stay?
I used to live in Longview, so I have made half the drive you just made.

I've never heard of Crechale's. What kind of a restaurant is it?

We usually eat at Charles Edward Cheese's when we go up to Jxn. :-) That of course is by demand of the child, not the mother.
