"Pulp Fiction" on Spike TV: Worst. Edit. Ever.
I didn't expect much to begin with, but the fact that they completely removed the Gimp was beyond reproach. That whole scene made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Why even bother showing a movie like that on TV if you're going to edit it to the point of incoherence?

1. There are some movies that should NOT be shown on Cable TV
Pulp Fiction is on of them.

3. Bull Durham and Smokey and the Bandit
also.

Without the cussing Bull Durham isn't even close to the same movie.

No Gimp? What will the children have nightmares over?

4. I didn't see the whole thing, just flipped to that scene.
That was enough for me to keep surfing. Absolutely horrible. At least A&E left "Reservoir Dogs" uncut, except for the f-bombs.

5. Well obviously if they edited that scene then it wasn't uncut! I'm rofl
they backed off their promise and didn't advertise it.

I was a little concerned when it aired @ 8p. There's no way you can show that movie @ 8p without editing it.

6. Yeah, they could have done what Comedy Central does,
air it completely uncut at 1 AM.

8. I loved the edits in "Jackie Brown".
They were so funny:

"Mother's father"
"Monkey's uncle"
"Melon feeler"
"Fellow farmer"
"snack" in place of "shit"

and they got tired of editing out all the "assohole"s so they stopped.

12. Die Hard Also
At the end where Bruce Willis says, "Yippee ki yay, motherfucker!"

They edited it to say, "Yippee ki yay, Mister Falcon!"

We're all like, "Mister Falcon?"

10. I try not to watch movies on Cable TV at all.
Just the commercials alone drive me nuts! They always pick the WORST place to cut to commercial, like in the middle of a scene. And yeah, the editing is bad too.

11. Imagine if that were the first time for you to see it. You'd be
so damn lost. Some movies (Pulp Fiction) have no business being on cable.

14. "Showgirls" and "Birdcage"
In Showgirls they "paint" clothing on the girls! They did the same thing with what I think is the funniest scene in Birdcage, when Hagador is cleaning the pool. In the uncut version he is wearing a thong, and the TV version he is wearing painted on shorts! Bwaha!

16. The worst cut was CaddyShack: Hey everybody, we're all gonna get laid
They changed it into "Hey everybody, let's grab a soda."

It really took alot away from Dangerfield and the cool folks kicking ass of all the hoity-toity folks at the country club

...was the original made-for-TV edit of Scarface. They have clips of it on the new SE DVD. The sound editing was a work of genius.

19. On another note: the word "shit" should be legalized for TV
I know a few late shows have played with it. But it's time.

20. RE: "On another note: the word "shit" should be legalized for TV"
It should be, I agree...especially since that is what is on TV 24/7: SHIT.
