Poll question: Are you a packrat or a neatnik?
I am emphatically the former.

5. Always been a packrat
without fail. I SO identified with Oscar Madison. Felix used to drive me insane! I don't have food under my bed, but that's the only difference, I think. I have never been capable of keeping any organization plan for very long. It's sort of like at some point, I just say, "what the hell" and go back to my messy system instead. I was born one of those people who you hear all the time muttering that they know exactly where everything is in the big pile they call their desk.

7. Packrat With Touch Of OCD
Although, my canned goods are not in alphabetical order, they are ordered by "age" so the oldest stuff is near the front, to be used first.

10. Both
My house is filled with junk but it's all meticulously organized, filed, boxed, documented, etc.

I have two huge metal cabinets downstairs filled with boxed and canned food - on the doors are full inventories of what's inside. Inside, the food is arranged by date.

I even drive myself crazy.

12. D and E !
Depends on where in my house you are looking.

I am a neat freak, but am also lazy and a packrat. soooooo. I have lots of crap, mostly organized. I will let the house go for quite a bit, then go on a rampage cleaning for hours on end, pull out the toothbrush and clean the floors and crevices...it's crazy.

and I do go thru everything at least once every two years! One of my fave boxes is my notes from high school, not class notes, notes from friends. We were such dorks!

21. i voted packrat but i'm really like you. i let things go for quite a bit
until i just can't stand it anymore and then go into a complete cleaning frenzy. for a solid week, i'll clean til midnight. it is nuts. but once i get started, i can't stop until i've cleaned the hell out of everything. i wish i'd just do the daily cleaning so that it does't pile up on me.

laundry is the perfect example. after every time i finish a mountain of laundry, i keep saying that i will never let it get that bad again. but it always snowballs on me and i end up spending days getting caught up again. honestly, how can 2 people go through that much clothes? it's not like we are changing outfits in the middle of the day. i honestly don't know how we end up with so much dirty laundry.

and don't get me started with dirty dishes....

23. you and I both need an agador!
You and I share a brain, apparently. I could have written this post, and have said the exact same words IRL. LOL!

I don't know which is better for me, having a W/D at home, which means one load at a time (days catching up) or going to the laundromat (pain in the ass to transport and expensive, but done in five hours!)

and dishes...omg. I frequently run out of clean ones in the cupboard before I get to the ones in the sink and on the counter, neatly arranged and filthy, that need washing! It's sad really.

and I make many empty promises to myself as well.

13. Pack rat+small duplex=a big mess
I think that we are really going to have to start going through things. My packratness though has paid off clothing wise. I am now thin, just like I was in high school and the beginning of college. It is a good thing that I saved those clothes.
