2. Not my decade
The Classics (I grew up with these)
The Flintstones (the modern stoneage family)
Jetsons (Daughter Judy)
Rocky & Bullwinkle (no words, but great theme song)

Modern (I watched these with my kids)
Simpsons (no words as well, but who cares)
The Smurfs (no words, but you know the tune)
Fraggle Rock (not a cartoon, but hey it's "down at Fraggle Rock")

And I hated "Scooby-Doo"

Both are very swinging bits of music. I DO love "Jonny Quest" especially. :-)

Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 04:23 PM by Richardo
Note the Zen, almost haiku-like simplicity of the lyrics, here in their entirety:

Meet George Jetson
His boy Elroy
Daughter Judy
Jane, his wife.

:hippie: Ommmmmmmmm

16. Speed Racer!
Here he comes
Her comes Speed Racer
He's a demon on wheels
He's a demon and he's gonna be chasin' after someone.

He's gainin' on you so you better look alive.
He's busy revvin' up a powerful Mach 5.

And when the odds are against him
And there's dangerous work to do
You bet your life Speed Racer
Will see it through.

Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer, Go!

He's off and flyin' as he guns the car around the track
He's jammin' down the pedal like he's never comin' back
Adventure's waitin' just ahead.

Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer
Go Speed Racer, Go!

Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 05:07 PM by AmandaRuth
for paying homage, and reintroducing the big band sound of cartoons past, ie the Jetsons, the Flintstones -

MiniAmanda, my daughter, says its got to be Yu Yu Hakusho - for its Japanese techno pop - which she loves.

31. Super Chicken or George of the Jungle.
Edited on Thu Jun-23-05 11:10 AM by Jokerman
The Super Chicken Theme Lyrics:

When you find yourself in danger,
When you're threatened by a stranger,
When it looks like you will take a lickin',
(puk, puk, puk, puk)
There is someone waiting,
Who will hurry up and rescue you,
just Call for Super Chicken!
(puk, ack!)
Fred, if you're afraid you'll have to overlook it,
Besides you knew the job was dangerous when you took it
(puk, ack!)
He will drink his super sauce
And throw the bad guys for a loss
And he will bring them in alive and kickin'
(puk, puk, puk, puk)
There is one thing you should learn
When there is no one else to turn to
Call for Super Chicken!
(puk, puk, puk, puk)
Call for Super Chicken!
(puk, ack!)
