Sore After Arm Wrestling
I was over at my fiance's last night and her uncle is in to visit me and her and to give his graces in the father's behalf. He is a Filipino, so from the get go he was stern, but with a gentle nature. As the night let up, the men all went out to drink at a local bar here in Naples. Getting souped up on beer and whiskey he began to poke fun at Bush.

I was laughing at his jokes and telling some of my own on Bush, and then I started busting on Aroyo. By me showing interest is Filipino politics I won his favor in one night.

Anyway, before the night was over, we all were pretty drunk. He then said "If you can beat me at arm wrestling, you can marry my brother's daughter." I went right to him and arm wrestled him. The funny thing is this guy was using his whole body to try and beat me! He was literally hanging off of my hand. I finally mustered enough strength to put him down.

We had fun last night, and I have a new respect for the Filipino culture. These guys like to have fun, and are serious about family, country, and their beliefs, BUT they do not impose them on others. I'm glad I met this family.
