Does anyone else think 1999 was the best year ever?
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 03:14 PM by youspeakmylanguage
I don't have any specific reasons. I just think our society peaked that year, and now we're going downhill fast...

I was also 21 and in college, so that might have something to do with it!

5. In 1999 European trance peaked...
Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 03:17 PM by youspeakmylanguage
...which is one of my favorite genres of music.

Looking back, I don't really care that much for the Seattle grunge rock prevalent then, except for the solo albums of Mark Lanegan and later Mad Season.

18. not talking about grunge
91-92 was when "post-modern" rock transformed into alternative rock, under pressure from things like grunge. And post-modern rock was lost forever.

6. My Grandmother - Now 99 Years Old
Told me in 1998 that she had never seen the USA in such good shape. Personally, 1999 was perhaps my best year, or maybe 1999-2000.

Now, My Grandmother curses Chimpy and says she feels bad for my kids..

Edited on Wed Jun-22-05 03:26 PM by youspeakmylanguage
...but some of us still had the same spirit in our hearts. Sadly, I wasn't one of them. I didn't get really politically active until after school.

What was it like in college before you had to wear condoms?

26. It was more of a personal "best year ever"...
I was wondering if others felt the same. The consensus seems to be if you are my age, 1999 was your best year ever.

29. 1999: the year of many job offers
And I wasn't even LOOKING for a job.

I told one place that I would need one month paid vacation per year, paid relocation, and I the choice of which city I work in at any given time.

They said yes - instantly - over the phone. Seems unfathomable now.

And this was in a field unrelated to the "tech boom".
