Teen Crashes ATV Into Horse

CLAREMORE, Okla. --A teenager was hospitalized after the four-wheeler he was driving crashed into a horse, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Monday.

Dustin Knight, 18, was driving his 2005 Polaris all-terrain vehicle south on a Rogers County road west of Claremore around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when he drove into the back of a horse ridden by 16-year-old Erin McBride of Claremore, the patrol said. Troopers said it was dark at the time of the accident, but the asphalt road was dry.

Knight, who was thrown 20 feet in the crash, was taken to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa and was in stable condition, the patrol said. McBride was not hurt.

The horse survived the collision and was taken to a veterinarian.

I'll get flamed if I say more, so I'll just reiterate--glad the horse is ok and I hope the kid didn't break his neck. (screw these damned ATWs!)

2. I second that: I'm glad the horse is OK. Damned ATVs, stupid kid.

Though, I must say, The kid on the horse should have been wearing the relective riding gear and safety reflectors made for riding in the dark near roads and highways. (I'm a horse owner.)
