I'm really glad that our house doesn't have a water meter...
this is the 3rd time this year that i've gone to bed and forgotten to turn off the sprinkler.
luckily- insomnia came to the rescue to-nite.

2. Many places meter the waste. I always thought that funny.
Knowing some people they would send their waste out the back door. I once bought a house and found out the owners had put a pipe in to run half their waste to the wood lot next door. Thank good it was just the washer etc. People will do odd things.

3. where i grew up-
when they decided to start charging for waste, rather than try to meter it, they just used the same number as the meter coming in- if it's coming in, it's gotta be going out, was the logic behind it...which meant that if you watered your lawn a lot, you'd really be getting "hosed" on the sewer part of the bill.

5. That's what we have..same usage charged for sewer as for water
Ends up costing us about $100 a month for both and we're forbidden from using the wells.

4. In our village
if one has a water well they will put a meter on it. And yes our sewer bill is based on water usage.

Nobody escapes the water meter man.
