2. I have said many times in the past

that Willy Wonka is NOT a kids' movie. The scene in the tunnel is a prime example of that, with a chicken being beheaded, and a snake crawling over a woman's face (which is an interesting Freudian reference), as well as other eery things. And then the punishments to the children are positively frightening in many ways.

I wonder how the new film is going to stack up?

Of course if the "horrible things" you describe are pretty tame compared to some of what most 4th graders have seen already.
