He and I have been ribbing each other good naturedly over politics. He voted Bush because of the terror issue. Well, I was at my appointment yesterday and he says, "I hope you have some influence over politicians. I'm a born and bred Texan like you and lately I'm completely embarrassed by what's going on in Austin, especially with Tom DeLay.
He continued, "All of our services are being cut, they refuse to raise taxes on people who are wealthy and I'm just really embarrassed."
I asked him about Bush. He said, "I can't believe he lied to us about Iraq. I didn't think anyone with the responsibility of the presidency would lie just to prove that he's better than his dad."
I told him that I'm pretty sad that all this has happened. Then I couldn't help it. I said, "I tried to tell you what these people were like. You know medicine, and I know about politicians. Now we have to work together to make it right."
He agreed with that. He was clearly embarrassed and upset because he knew very well what my feelings were about the pukes. But he admitted it. I told him he could borrow my FUGWB shirt so he laughed. He said, "I just might."
